With so much happening in our day-to-day lives, balance is key!
While I’m sure that every single one of us know how important balance is, it’s often trying to figure out how to find balance in life that we ponder.
I appreciate those of you who requested this post and I’m sorry it took me a little while to get this one out!
I’m super excited to share with you a few of my favorite tips for finding balance. I’m at a point in my life where peace of mind is essential, and I think these tips support that type of lifestyle.
Plan and Organize Your Schedule
If you’ve been here with me for even a short time, you’ll know I’m a planner girl at heart.
There are multiple reasons for that, but if we get down to the most efficient reason – it’s because it works. It truly makes my life easier, less chaotic, and really tones down my anxiety when I work in my planner daily. It has been a great routine for me.
I recommend creating a master list of all of your to-dos, appointments, events, and so on. When you write this list, don’t worry about the order you’re jotting things down – think of it as a brain dump.
Then once you’ve written everything down you can think of, you can start compiling things into their respective dates/times in your planner or calendar. You can even use a notebook! Truly, just use what you have and works best for you!
I wrote a post back in the day about planning your week, so you can take a deep-dive right here, if you like!
Be Where Your Feet Are Planted
People always say it’s best to ‘be present.’ While that is wonderful advice and I’ve certainly shared that here as well….I think I found an even better one!
I didn’t create this quote (I’m sorry I’m not sure who wrote it), but it’s a powerful one: be where your feet are planted. It gives you something to truly visualize when you say it, and then your mind is immediately focused to your physical location.
It’s of course not just about your physical location, but more so, what you’re there for. For example, when you’re out to lunch with a friend, it’s about connecting with that person. By reminding yourself where your feet are planted, you’re not just physically being present, but you’re also forcing your mind to be there as well.
We can often be physically in one place, but mentally in a completely different one. That leads to so much overwhelm and unnecessary stress, friends. I hope this reminder helps you as much as it has helped me lately in finding balance when things feel a little hectic.
Listen To Your Body
Many times, we ignore warning signs from our bodies. We feel tired, but we push through whatever it is that we’re doing anyway. We feel overwhelmed, but we keep adding more things into our schedules anyway. Ultimately, we end up feeling burnt out, stressed out, and drained.
Taking time to ask yourself how you’re feeling may seem silly, but that short check-in could make all the difference!
Think of it as if you’re checking in on someone you love and you just want to make sure they’re doing okay and if they need anything – that’s exactly what you’re doing for yourself. That helps you feel better and accomplish more in the long run because you’re taking care of yourself throughout the process.
That’s a wrap on some of my favorite tips for finding balance in life, friends! I truly hope that you gained a little something from this post, and I’d love to hear what you think!
P.S. I wrote a post about how I created a work-life balance while in college awhile back, and you can visit it right here if that’s something you’re interested in! 🙂

So very true, Melody!
A schedule does help me and I try to have a daily/weekly/monthly one going that I reflect on. I do like that quote about being where you feet are planted. I think it helps to focus the mind from wandering and being truly present. The summer is going to be a bit wild for me with the teens home, so I’m hoping to make the most of it and be as organized as I can.

So happy you loved these Shauna! Thanks so much!
I am so bad with planning things out. I always promise myself that I will make a planner and stick to it but then I forget and start keeping things in mind to do later. It kind of works for me but there are things that remain undone, and I stress about it. 🙂

Aww, I definitely get that, Via! It may be something just like a quick brain dump where you just jot all of those things down that you can think of, and maybe even just leave it at that if it works for you! Everyone is different, so it’s all about what makes you stress less. 🙂
These are great tips, Ashley. I love the one about being where your feet are planted, and I am a huge fan of planning and scheduling!
