This quick and easy goulash recipe brings back all the nostalgia for me!
I can remember having this dish at my grandmother’s house when I was little and I’ve had a love for it ever since. She made a spicier version and you can certainly do that! Feel free to add zesty tomatoes (chili-style), jalapenos or whatever else your heart desires to add to this goulash recipe!
What I love about this recipe is that you can be creative, you can even top it with cheese and sour cream!
I can eat this on its own and find it quite filling between the pasta and the ground beef. But if you’re looking for something to compliment this meal, it’s great with cornbread or even some salad beforehand!
My Goulash Recipe
Just a quick note on my photos for this recipe – I used more macaroni than what’s called for because I needed to get rid of it at my house (anybody else hoard stuff in your cabinets?!) and I had the larger, zesty tomatoes at my pantry, so I threw those in this time too!
Quick and Easy Goulash
Ingredients
- 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
- 2 Cups Elbow Macaroni
- 1 Small Yellow Onion
- 15 oz. Can Tomato Sauce
- 14.5 oz. Can Diced Tomatoes
- 2 Teaspoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Bring medium saucepan of water to boil and add elbow macaroni, cook until tender.
- While waiting for water to boil, add ground beef and chopped yellow onion into large skillet and turn on medium-high heat.
- Brown and drain ground beef, then add cooked elbow macaroni to the skillet.
- Mix tomato sauce, petite diced tomatoes, and all seasonings together with the ground beef and macaroni mixture.
- Allow goulash to simmer for 20-25 minutes and enjoy!

I love making goulash like this in the fall when I have fresh tomatoes from the garden. There is normally so much extra liquid I toss in the noodles after I cooked the beef to save a dish! It’s such a great fall meal!
