It’s no secret how much I love planning around here.
I have been a paper planner gal from ever since I can remember.
I always enjoyed jotting things down, journaling my heart out and making to-do lists just so I could check things off. There’s something about that feeling! Now that I’m older and feel like I’m often performing a juggling act, planning provides a great foundation for each day.
Trust me, there are still some balls dropping over here during my juggling act! This just helps me manage my organized chaos the best way I know how, ha ha.
I thought I would share with you just a quick post on how I’m planning in 2022. You’ll see what I’m using and how each of these makes me feel more productive and efficient with my time.
My Phone
While paper planners have always had my heart, I have really come around to digital planning. Not fully submerged into it at this point, but I’ve found scheduling things out on my phone is super helpful!
It’s become a habit now for me to automatically type in my appointments or events in my phone as soon as I find them out. The key for me is to not just put this in my phone’s calendar, but also to include an alert that will pop up and remind me. Even though I am in the habit of checking my calendar each day now, I don’t want to leave it to chance that I’ll remember…my memory is certainly not the best. 🙂
The alert helps because I can set them up even a week ahead of time, if I want to be reminded at that time, and then reset the reminder for closer to the timing of it.
Airtable
I started researching Airtable back in December of last year in hopes of planning in 2022, and finally took the plunge in January. My goal with it was to create an editorial calendar for this blog and help me to keep track of different projects I have coming up this year.
I was a little overwhelmed at first, but after going through the tutorials and reviews that were posted online – I am feeling pretty much at home with it. Thankfully, I was able to find a couple of different templates and switch them up to what I wanted to use them for, and it has worked out great so far.
I really love being able to track things connected to my blog, as well as personal to-do’s that I want to accomplish. It also syncs to my phone, so I can check it at any time and grab things for the blog as needed to post. I’m really enjoying it!
PowerSheets Goal Planner
This one is new to me in 2022! With that being said, I won’t be able to share exactly how helpful it has been just yet, but I will definitely give you an update later on when I’ve had enough time to truly utilize it. I just wanted to note it here so you’d know that I will be adding it to my planning tools this year.
What I can tell you that I love so far is how beautifully made this planner is.
It’s full of color, which I am always a fan of, and it really gives me joy just when I open it. There is a lot of work ahead of time as far as getting through the planner goes, but from what I’ve heard that’s the magic part of the process.
You’re putting in time to truly think about what brings you the most joy, what works and what doesn’t, etc. And that information will help you be able to put together a list of goals that are going to add value to your life, and make them feel more achievable by writing the steps out necessary to get there.
I’d love to hear how you’re planning in 2022! Whether it’s tried-and-true favorites of yours or brand new things that you’re trying out, it would be great to hear from you.
I hope you have the brightest day, friends!

It’s great you have these things to keep you organised! I love my phone calendar and I put everything in it – it syncs up with the tablet on the wall that does our aircon and home security/door access so it’s always visible there and both hubby and I know what’s going on each day with the kids. Would be lost without it for sure!
Hope that you are having a nice week 🙂 It’s a big week here – first week of school for the kids after the summer holidays!
Oh my goodness, I love the idea that it syncs to your tablet on the wall. How cool! I bet that’s super helpful with keeping all of your schedules together.
Aww thank you! It was a really nice week, and I hope you made it through yours okay! I’m sure it was very busy! 🙂
I prefer paper too! I’ll need to check out air table!

I hope you’ll like it if you give it a try, friend!
I have always wanted to use planners but the thing is I always forget to use them. Maybe I should try a digital planner I may have better luck!

That’s totally understandable Allie, everyone is a little different when it comes to their planning methods. They have a lot of cool digital planners out there now, so it’s definitely worth a try! 🙂
Wow, I think I need that planner too!
I’m really enjoying it so far, Marie! I hope you’ll love it if you give it a try!
I’m also paper planer girl and this year I found planer/journal and enjoy every day wrote new things in it and plan new day.
That’s wonderful, friend! So happy you found a planner you love – that always makes things more enjoyable to schedule.
I loooove how organized you are- a girl after my own heart! I used to be a paper planner girl myself, but now am strictly digital. Airtable sounds amazing! I use Google Cal and sync it to my Todoist app, which I can access on my phone and laptop. It keeps me sane, haha.

Aww, thank you Ashley! 🙂 I like Google Calendar as well, and I’ll have to try out the Todoist app and see how I like it. I’m so happy you have a great system to stay organized, too!
Thanks for sharing all your planning tools! Can’t wait to hear about your experience with the PowerSheets Goal Planner. I use my phone as well with my Passion Planner for keeping track of everything. Great post Ashley!

Thanks so much for checking it out, my dear friend! 🙂 I haven’t tried out the Passion Planner before, but I’ll have to look into that one. 🙂 Thank you again so much!
Man, I waver between digital planning and good old fashioned planners all the time, and it’s usually a disaster as a result… I’ll forget dates in one location or another and then I’m back to feeling like I’m juggling too much info! One of these days there is going to be a smart planner book that inputs handwriting across all devices, lol!
Haha, I can definitely understand what you mean. It’s taken me awhile to get used to how I balance it out, but I’ve found it to be really helpful now. But it truly does help when you can sync everything up if you stay totally digital, I just haven’t wanted to do that just yet.
This reminds me, though I don’t remember what it’s called, I saw on tablet on Amazon that you can write on with a stylus and it syncs into an app, so you can also view it on your phone or desktop. I feel like that could be handy, if it’s something you’d like!
As a huge planner myself, I adore this post! I love using the calendar app on my phone as well as a paper planner. I need to check out Airtable. It seems like such an amazing project planner for different activities.

Aww, I’m so happy you liked the post, Jill! 🙂 Airtable has been super helpful to me, with both the blog and personal stuff for me and my family. I hope you’ll enjoy it if you give it a try!
Airtable sounds cool! Digital planner is more convenient, but I find writing down in a paper planner to be therapeutic.

I can definitely relate! I think that’s partially why I can’t give up paper planning. Plus I’m obsessed with all the different kinds of paper planners, pens, highlighters, etc. 🙂
I haven’t heard of Airtable, but it sounds really interesting. I am like you in that I use Google Calendar for appointments, yet I use a paper planner for other stuff. I have my Cultivate What Matters planner for my goals and clean eating and then the Erin Condren planner is what I use for my blogging editorial calendar. So, 3 things I use! I may check out the Airtable more, it may be a good idea to move my blogging editorial calendar onto the computer at some point!

I love all of those things, Carrie! I miss my EC Planner, I had one last year but only bought the PowerSheets planner so far this year. I hope you’ll enjoy Airtable if you give it a try. It’s nice that you can totally customize it to what you want/need, it just takes a little getting used to at first.
I love planning days ❤
Me too, Kinga! 🙂
I love your planning idea and explanation as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I’m so happy you loved it, Mariann! I appreciate you taking time to stop by and leave a comment! 🙂
So many great ideas here. I never heard of the PowerSheets planner, or Airtable, which sounds like an excellent tool for blogging! I’m the same, all of my appointments go on my phone, but I prefer paper and cute printables when I need to make notes, journal to things like that. There’s something therapeutic about writing on paper, and I’ve read you’re more likely to follow through when you write things down. Thanks for sharing these ideas, Ashley! I hope you have a great week 🙂
I’ve really seen a boost in my blog productivity since using Airtable, and my blog post on PowerSheets is coming very soon, so I hope that will help since you haven’t seen it before. 🙂 Yes to paper and printables, they always make things more fun, I think! Thanks so much, Martha!
I definitely need to get more organized this year. I’ve heard great things about Airtable and will check it out!
Jill – Doused in Pink
I totally understand, it’s definitely on my big goals list as well as decluttering! I hope you’ll love Airtable!
I love having a look at how other people stay organized! I personally swear by my bullet journal 🙂 x

So happy you enjoyed my post, Mia! I have never had a bullet journal before, but I also love looking at those and how people use them.
Woah so cool that you’re this much into planning. I plan everything in my head! hahaha
http://www.fashionradi.com
Aww, thanks Radi! Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that, ha ha! My little brain would not work very well that way, and that’s why I have to write/type everything down. 😛
I love using my phone planner. It’s not perfect, but it definitely helps me keep track of my appointments. I also love using a physical planner/calendar, it really helps me and it’s so satisfying to check off things after they’re done or at the end of the day!
Lots of love,

Love this, Krissi! These are some of the things that keep me sane, which is a hard job, haha!
I use add reminders for important things on my phone calendar as you cannot keep your diary always with you while your phone is with you all the time.
That’s a very good point, Ayesha! Most of us never leave the house without our phone, so it does help us stay on top of things. 🙂
Love how organised you are! And this is such a great post. I enjoyed reading it especially, getting ideas for my own organisation.
