New year, new goals?!
Maybe it’s more like shifting my goals for 2024 over to my goals for 2025, ha ha! Have you ever done that?
2024 was just a really tough year for me.
There were some family things that were difficult and unfortunately out of my control. The worst part of last year was losing my Pepper Ann, my precious young cat who I thought would be with me for many more years. I still cannot get over that it has been a little over four months since she passed away.
Draino has tried to be my cuddly cat and she lays with me super often now, which I love, I just wish my Peppy could be here too. I have felt the blogging bug kick in lately though, and I’m going to do my best to show up here and over on my socials much more often. I appreciate all of your patience as I’m trying to work into a consistent routine again!
Anyhoo, this post is about goals for 2025, so I better hop over to those! 🙂
Personal Goals
- Pick at least one goal each month to focus on each day (January is the Down Dog Yoga Challenge!)
-
- For February, I’m almost positive that I’m going to walk/run one mile per day.
-
- Make meal planning/prep a priority and take note of favorite recipes to put into a rotation
- I have Kyle’s chicken meal prep down to a T, but I’m working to expand into healthy or healthy-ish meals that we can both eat during the week/weekend!
- Run two 5K’s this year (Thin Mints Sprint in May, Run for Your Life in the fall)
- Yes, I only chose the Thin Mints 5K in hope that they have the cookies there, it IS sponsored by the Girl Scouts!
- Keep praying for a very special thing to happen this year (would love your prayers too, God knows all about it!)
- Read the entire Bible this year via The Bible Recap (it is very messy over here with this goal so far, there have been some double/triple recap days, but so happy that my SIL is doing it too!)
House Goals
- Rebuild the hot mess express firepit in the backyard
- Remove tree stumps in the backyard
- Widen our driveway so we don’t have to play musical cars
- Find space-saving closet solution so I don’t have to stack some of my clothes on the floor
- Blankets are also an issue for me – do you have any suggestions? I’d love to hear them!
- Make our front porch cozier with some comfy cushions for our glider and other decor
Blog Goals
- Grow my socials for more reach in our community here as well as for more brand collab possibilities
- Write Substack emails to subscribers on a schedule this year (I’m sorry I struggle so much with emails, I don’t know what it is!)
- Get super intentional with sharing affiliate sales on things I love and that I think you’ll love too!
- Share more day in the life pieces on socials and some weekly recap blog posts here
- Bring my YouTube-self to the forefront and start adding plan with me videos
- Update my About Me section with well… more about me and our little family so new visitors will see more of what Make Life Marvelous is all about
- Share more of my most-requested recipes in real life (that always sounds so silly because this is also my real life, but I mean people I see in person, haha!)
- Take new photos of my chocolate mayo cake and cool whip icing recipes (these posts perform great on Pinterest, but I regret not having better photos, they were among my first posts!)
That’s a wrap on my goals for 2025, sweet friends! I don’t have any grandiose goals per say, but I’m excited to see how I can make a dent in each of these. I hope this new year will be so bright and beautiful for each of you, and very grateful we get to do another year together here!
P.S. Thanks Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom for the inspiration – go read her goals post for this year!

I was supposed to start gyming in 2024, but for some reasons I couldn’t. Therefore, it has been shifted to 2025. Love what you’ve listed for your personal and blog goals, it gave me some inspiration.

That’s more than understandable Bernie, I am cheering you on for your gyming this year – you will do amazing! Sometimes life throws us for a loop and we may get started a little later than planned, but we will still get there. 😉 Thank you so much and you made my day knowing this post inspired you, that’s always my goal! Have a fantastic weekend, friend!
Ohh, you have some great goals! I had to chuckle over the whole widen your driveway. I know your reasoning on that one! Ha, ha!!! I feel my recipe posts do really well too, especially on Pinterest. I could really update some photos too! the Bible Recap is a tough one, but so rewarding. I was cringing when you mentioned you were doing 3 lessons in a day! That’s some dedication too stay caught up!! Downward Dog has just been amazing for me. I especially love it on Monday mornings!

Thanks so much my dear friend! Haha, you definitely know all about the driveway issues!! I’m glad you talked me into the Bible Recap even though I didn’t really get through it last year, but trying my best this year. The extra recap days are definitely rough, I’m not doing myself any favors by skipping days, haha! I adore the Down Dog app and am so happy you told me about that too!!
Great goals sweetie!

Thank you SO much Danielle!!
These are all wonderful goals, and I know you’ll achieve them! I’m doing no sweets in February, plus one other challenge TBD. The Thin Mints Spring sounds like a fun race! Looking forward to your YouTube videos!
Jill – Doused in Pink
Aww, thanks so much Jill!! I know you will reach your goals too and love that we both did the January yoga challenge, and I’m wishing you all the best with no sweets, I know that’s tough – but so are you and you’ll do great! 🙂 I appreciate you friend!
These are all excellent goals. 2 5ks that is an impressive goal. And wow it sounds like you really want to upgrade the yard! And oooo yes do YouTube! And yes I am increasing my socials too. But TT freaks me out with all the men. Alll my followers are men. One even emailed me, so weird. This is the only platform where I experienced this. Ugh.
