Meet your new favorite recipe book!
You probably have a few cookbooks lying around, but how about a cocktail recipe book? How neat is this!
The Simple Goodness Sisters are launching their first book, perfectly-titled, Drink Your Garden. It’s filled with not just delicious cocktail (and mocktail!) recipes with only natural ingredients, but also features their beautiful story as owners of Simple Goodness Cocktail Farm in Washington, along with their tried-and-true tips!
You may remember me chatting about their amazing syrups back in 2023 or even just last week in my All The Things post.
I am so blessed to have a copy in my hands, thanks to these sweet sisters and Jennifer Richardson! I’m very excited to share with you more about their book today!
Grab your favorite cup-of-something and let’s dive in!
Bring The Garden to Your Glass with Drink Your Garden
When you purchase syrups from Simple Goodness Sisters, you know you’re getting a fresh, natural, delicious product for your drink(s) of choice. These sisters don’t hoard all of their secrets either!
One of my favorite things about Drink Your Garden is that you get the inside scoop on what it’s like to grow your own ingredients at home and make them into the best drinks. After reading their book, I already want to start my own little garden with some tomatoes in a pot and maybe some herbs in my windowsill.
I experienced some nostalgia reading about some of their childhood memories.
My dad, who passed when I was eleven, grew up on a farm and we had a small garden in our backyard when I was little. We raised tomatoes, cucumbers, banana peppers, and lettuce. I would pick the tomatoes straight out of the garden and eat them! We even canned fresh tomato juice with our sweet elderly neighbors and those are really some of my fondest memories – that, along with snapping beans. The sisters bring up the joys of canning, bean-snapping and more in their book!
In addition to their helpful how-to gardening info, you’ll get more than 100 botanical recipes along with more tips of how to elevate those drinks even further.
There’s truly something for everyone in this book! You’ll find recipes for…
- Syrups
- Cocktails & Mocktails
- Garnishes
- Juices
- And so much more!
I don’t drink alcohol, but I am so excited to try their mocktails and their syrups in this book. There’s an iced coffee recipe in here and you know it’s on my list to make!
Alcohol Isn’t Required to Enjoy This Book
As I just mentioned, I don’t drink alcohol, but can I tell you how included I felt as I read through this book? I was taken aback by Belinda and Venise’s perspective on alcohol and it made me love and appreciate their brand so much more! They have a written section in reference to either low-alcohol or zero-alcohol drinks but I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just include one quote below!
A direct quote from Drink Your Garden:
We believe that everyone deserves an invite to the party, whether they’re drinking alcohol or not.
Too often, people can make others feel bad because they don’t drink when they truly have no right to do so. You never know the reason someone may be abstaining from alcohol. I am the daughter of two alcoholics. My dad passed away from sclerosis of the liver and my mom struggled with alcoholism for years. I’m so proud to say that she’s nearly seven years sober!
So you can see why my experience would lead me to stay away from it. But no matter the reason for someone’s choice, I think respecting it is always the best option and as the sisters believe, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during happier hour (love that they call it that!). You can still enjoy someone’s company and chat away regardless of what’s in your glass!

I loved hearing the story about your dad’s farm. It reminds me of my grandpa’s farm he had in his backyard. They had a huge backyard and he grew tons and tons of tomatoes and he always had a knife in his pocket and he’d cut open the ripe tomatoes and eat them right in front of us and offer us some! Ha, ha! I love freshly grown produce!! This book looks like it has some great recipes and I just love their syrups!

I think everyone is able to choose for themselves that they do or don’t want to consume. It’s ridiculous to make people feel bad for their choices. This sounds like a great book! I love a good cocktail or mocktail with fun flavors!
I love the idea of drinking your garden—what a refreshing way to enjoy fresh ingredients and promote wellness!
