It’s that time again, friends!
I can’t believe that it’s almost April now! I’m really excited for better weather though and a late Easter. I love when the flowers start blooming and while I’ve never recovered from daylight savings time yet (haha!), it is so nice that it’s still light outside after 5 pm.
I enjoyed working on some fun collaborations this month and being able to share them with you, like the DIH Concepts Travel Bag and the Simple Goodness Sisters cocktail recipe book that just launched a few days ago!
There isn’t a ton of newness for March compared to the last, but of course sharing all the things nonetheless!
What I’ve Been Watching
I enjoy curling up in my chair in the evenings trying to find something good to watch before bed. I like a little bit of everything, whether it’s romance, comedy, true crime, action, documentaries, animated movies, news, etc.
Daredevil: Born Again
This is one of the few shows that Kyle and I both love and can watch together! It’s a Marvel series if you’re unfamiliar with it. Daredevil is a vigilante and a very good lawyer. It originally ran on Netflix, but the newest series is airing on Disney+. It has my favorite vigilante, Frank Castle (aka The Punisher), in it as well and each episode has been fantastic and action-packed so far!
Suits LA
We are still watching Suits LA too! I got my very favorite character back for a moment in last week’s episode – Harvey Specter. If you’ve ever watched the show, you’ll know that there is just no one else like Harvey. The actor behind the character, Gabriel Macht, does an amazing job. It is a little sadder than I thought it would be, but it’s a drama so I should have expected that I guess!
Bryan Kohberger New Documents on YouTube
The Idaho college murders is such a sad case and it’s getting closer to trial. I believe they’re planning for June now. The public defender appointed to Kohberger’s defense has tried nearly everything in the book to get the case thrown out. I know defense attorneys tend to get a bad rap and truly, I think they have a lot of hard evidence saying that her client most likely did it, but she is doing her job and especially with such a high-profile case.
I was really surprised when some more evidence came out that Kohberger’s Amazon history shows he bought a knife and sheath months earlier, and the sheath matches the same kind found at the scene. Then, he looked up a replacement after the murders. That does not look great if they allow it in the trial, which they likely will.
Latest Happenings
Some of the things that happened this month!
New Coffee Shop Fun!
I was so surprised when I found out we were getting a new coffee shop in town called the Black Book Beanery. Some of my friends on Facebook started sharing about it, so I definitely had to check it out! I got some pretty photos and a really yummy toasted marshmallow cold brew while I was there. I’ve been obsessed with toasted marshmallow for awhile now, I get it quite often at a favorite local place that doubles as a pizza place! Carrie even bought me the Monin Toasted Marshmallow syrup they use, which I’m getting ready to go make my at-home version as soon as I wrap up this post!
I did an Instagram carousel post with more photos you can view here!
Lunches with my FIL
This is a normal weekly thing for me and I often share pictures of my food on Instagram when we go to lunch, but I was really slacking this month. Maybe I was just too hungry and had to dive in, haha! I did snap this photo early this month of both of our plates at a diner really close to my in-laws house. I got the burger with french fries covered in brown gravy (if you haven’t had it, it’s amazing and they have it at a lot of places here in southern Ohio) and my FIL got beans, cornbread and hashbrowns.
What I’m Working On
I like to pick goals for the house, here on the blog, and just things in general that I can break down over time so they don’t feel as heavy or overwhelming.
March Challenge: Walk/Run Two Miles 3x per week
Most of you probably know that I’m doing a challenge each month, mostly revolving around moving my body more. I have a goal of running two 5Ks this year with the first one being in May! So I only have a couple more months to prepare. I thought I wanted to pick a challenge that would be daily for each month, but it just didn’t work out this time. So I ended up running two miles, three times per week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday usually!
It’s going okay so far, but I tend to get hot after running the first mile and I was getting really out of breath. I started alternating breathing in through my nose and out of my mouth and vice-versa, and that has really helped so far! I will up it to three miles for April and hope that I don’t die, haha!
One thing I’ve realized is that I absolutely have to eat something before running. I got a little sick the other day when I didn’t and my stomach was not happy with me! One of my favorite things lately has been eggs with just a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and some hot sauce. In the photo below, I had it for lunch with a balsamic strawberry salad. I use the Skinnygirl dressings and they’re so yummy!
Sonicsmooth Collab
I am really excited to try out this dermaplaning tool soon! Michael Todd Beauty reached out to me last month about a collaboration where I try out their Sonicsmooth in exchange for an honest review. I just got both the Sonicsmooth and an oil you can use prior to dermaplaning, so I haven’t tried it just yet. So I’ll be working on this collab and getting it ready to share with you soon!
In the meantime, check out some of my dear friends who already tried it out. Kathrine’s Instagram post and Carrie’s Instagram post.
What I’m Excited About
There is almost always something magical to get excited about, no matter how ordinary it may seem at first!
My HanCanPlan Order
I feel like I haven’t done a post without mentioning HanCanPlan’s stickers from Etsy in a long time, haha! I just fell in love with these stickers from the get-go and my order is on its way now for my springtime stickers. I also got the May monthly sticker set so I can do a plan with me video on my YouTube channel for that!
English Muffin Pizzas
My best friend Stephanie told me about these mini pizzas that she makes and I was really excited to try them! They are so tasty, quick to whip up, and low-calorie as well! I use the Thomas Light Multigrain English Muffins, Hunts Tomato Sauce with Basil, Garlic, and Oregano, and Hormel Turkey Pepperoni. Stephanie told me that the little can of tomato sauce actually is enough for all six muffins, so that makes twelve mini pizzas since you cut them in half, so that’s neat!
Megababe Rosy Deodorant
I have always bought one of the run of the mill deodorants on the shelves, like Secret or Degree, but I have been more health/ingredient conscious as I’m getting older. I did a little research and found that this Megababe deodorant was actually at my Walmart, so I picked it up yesterday and am excited to try it. Do you use a clean deodorant brand?
That’s a wrap on March’s all the things, sweet friends! It was a bit uneventful, but sometimes no news is good news around here. How was your March?
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your FriYAY!
So much goodness in this post! I need to try those English Muffin pizzas and the gravy covered fries. So yummy! You will love that dermaplaning tool. I just used mine today. I use native deodorant which is all natural. Have a great weekend Ashley!

Thank you so much, my dear friend! I hope you’ll love either of those if you give them a try, and I am so thrilled to try out the Sonicsmooth this week!! I’ll have to check out native deodorant too!
Ah the documentary on YT sounds good. I never seen suits but have heard good things. Oh yes who does not love a new coffee shop and oooo the food porn is SO good! This deodorant sounds excellent.

Haha, so happy you enjoyed all the yummy food here and I hope you’ll love Suits if you give it a whirl! Thanks so much Allie!
Ok, you know I love those Thomas Light English Muffins, but MINI PIZZAS on them? Your friend Stephanie is brilliant!!!!! I need to try them! YUM!! Oh and the new deodorant I am using is Primally Pure Vanilla + Citrus Deodorant (they have other scents). It is only available online tho! You’ll have to tell me how your deodorant goes for you.

She sure is!! She said her momma used to make them like that back in the day, so she still does it too. I’ll have to check out that deodorant! So far I’m really liking my Megababe one, but still super new.
Oh we love muffins as mini pizzas! Wraps are good for quick and easy pizzas too, the kids love pizza so we come up with a few alternatives so it’s not too much of the same for them, haha!
It’s good to see you have had a lovely month and are enjoying getting active – good luck with your practice for your 5k!
Haha I love that Mica, I bet that’s so fun with the kids!! I wouldn’t have ever thought of using wraps for that, I will have to try it soon. We buy those and make like chicken wraps, etc. So happy you loved the muffins as mini pizzas too!
Aww thank you friend, I appreciate that more than I can say – you’re the best! Hope you have a wonderful April!
I have Suits in my queue but haven’t watched it yet. The documentary about the college murders sounds interesting, too. Keep up the good work with running – you’ll get there! One of my goals was to start running this month, but it didn’t happen.
Jill – Doused in Pink
I hope you’ll love Suits when you watch it, Jill!! Oh, thank you tons, I appreciate it! I know you will get there too friend, you’re still doing amazing!
I wish I could eat before running! I’m the opposite, if I eat, I feel sick.Way to go with your running. It’s so hard to get started. Having races really helps to motivate.
Aww, I hate that you get sick if you eat before! Thank you so much Laura, and you always do awesome with your races!!
I’ve been debating watching Suits LA. I had been waiting for reviews from someone who watched the original and Arrow!

I think you’ll love it, friend!! I can’t say I’ve really watched Arrow, I remember watching it with my husband way back in the day for a few episodes and I’ve always loved Stephen Amell, but definitely watched the original Suits series and feel this does a great job so far!
I don’t like that much running… :/
I definitely get that Kinga!
I am slowly building up to the 5k so I don’t die while I’m out there, haha, very much still a beginner here. But I do enjoy it so far!
I’m really excited for the warmer weather too! I can’t wait to bring my kiddies out and enjoy the sun
I’ve actually have been on the search for a new show and Suits LA is on my list. So glad to hear Harvey makes an appearance because I absolutely love him!
Hope you have a great April!
That sounds so fun, Mariann!!
I hope the weather turns in the right direction quickly for you and your sweet family. Harvey is just the best, isn’t he? You will love his return in the LA version and I really am liking the show as a whole so far. Wishing you a fantastic April too, my friend!
