I thought it would fun to share what I’ve been interested in (all the things!) lately!
I was trying to figure out what to title this post, as I feel it will be something that I’ll do again, maybe once per month. I thought all the things sounded fun and can go in a million different directions! So while this version is going to be based on what I’m watching, reading, and so on – other versions could be cleaning hacks, planner tips, etc.
This post is kind of giving me Friday Favorites vibes that you’ve probably seen on other bloggers’ websites, even though I’m technically posting this on a Thursday, haha. I think you get what I mean!
I’m hoping you’ll enjoy this type of post, and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
What I’ve Been Watching
I enjoy curling up in my chair in the evenings trying to find something good to watch before bed. I like a little bit of everything, whether it’s romance, comedy, action, documentaries, animated movies, news, etc.
True Crime Cases
I’m not sure if I’ve ever shared with you all how obsessed I am with true crime! I like to follow cases from beginning to end and I will read all the legal jargon that most people would find super boring, haha. I will watch documentaries, listen to podcasts, watch the trials, read the headlines, I dig into all of it!
The cases I’m following right now are the University of Idaho Murders, Ana Walshe, Alex Murdaugh, and Lori Vallow/Chad Daybell case. All of these have been heavily reported on, so you’ve probably heard the names from the news even if you haven’t been following these with a microscope like I have!
I’d love to know if any of you follow true crime, or any of these cases in particular, and would like to see a blog post or even a video either on IG or YouTube with what’s going on in each of the cases and my thoughts on them.
Jack Ryan Season 3
Kyle and I finished this season in a matter of a day! We both like John Krasinski and he does such a great job in this show as Jack Ryan. I won’t spoil anything, but it was SO good and definitely worth watching if you’ve previously loved the series or if you’re interested in an action/government tv show.
Queen Sugar Final Season
I finished watching this one with my SIL a month or so ago. It is SO good. I have raved about it here on the blog before, so you may remember me mentioning it. I truly wish this show would have gone on longer, but it was cancelled, so season seven is all we get. It would be really neat to get some spin offs from the show, as there were so many different storylines happening that were just cut off. They did the best they could to tie everything up, but still so many loose ends! Seasons 1-6 are all on Hulu and season 7 will probably be on there soon for all, but right now it’s just if you pay for the live tv too.
I talked about this show back in this recap blog post!
What I’m Reading
For the most part, I read YA novels, rom/com, personal development books, or thrillers!
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
I have a confession to make – I started this book back in early December, maybe even around Thanksgiving and I STILL didn’t get through it until like last week. Yikes! It truly wasn’t the book itself, it was just a busy time with the holidays. Plus, I sort of found myself in a reading slump! I literally checked the book out three times in a row and I hate doing that, especially if it’s a popular book like this one. I knew I couldn’t do it for a fourth time, so I made myself sit down to read it and I was done within just a couple of days. It was fantastic!
Easily one of my favorite books I’ve ever read!
Without Merit by Colleen Hoover
I’m about twenty-ish pages in on this book. Hoover just might be the author to bring me out of this reading slump! I loved Verity and Layla was enjoyable, but not quite as good though in my opinion. I have a few of her books on my list to read this year, so I’m excited to read more of her work!
Things That Matter by Joshua Becker
I just finished this book right before reading Book Lovers! I enjoyed this one! It’s a personal development book based on not falling into the trap of distractions that lead us down a path full of regrets. It’s sort of sad because it points out people who wish they had lived life differently, even at the almost-end of their lives. That’s a really depressing thought, which is of course the point of the book so that you won’t make the same mistakes.
What I’m Working On
I like to pick goals for the house, here on the blog, and just things in general that I can break down over time so they don’t feel as heavy or overwhelming.
Updates to Blog & Social Sites
I’ve really hit the ground running with blog work behind the scenes (and some in front of the scenes, does that even make sense?! Haha!). I have a HUGE goal with my blog this year and I’m doing my very best to get it out there as best that I can. One of the things I felt that was lacking a bit was a personal touch. Like, the descriptive spaces for those who are new here, just weren’t where they should be. So I changed my IG bio, I added a small paragraph of when/what to expect to all my IG and Facebook posts. I revamped the cover photos on both social networks, too.
I want to do several more things, but I’d really like to grow my Facebook page (I even got this rising creator award a couple of weeks in a row, which was really neat!) and update my about me page for starters. You’ll also notice I’ve been posting a lot more frequently here on the blog this month too, so there will definitely be more of that in the near future!
Decluttering Closets
I haven’t started any decluttering yet this year, but the closets are at the top of my list! Ugh, this seems to be a never-ending job. You may remember me mentioning this last year, but we still have so many items tucked away in these closets. It’s kind of our only places to store things out of sight, if you will, so that’s the issue.
We did buy some overhead store shelves for the garage early last year, but they aren’t up yet. Plus, some of the items just won’t be fit for the garage either if they’re sensitive to temperature. I really want to make a difference in our storage this year though!
That’s a wrap on the first edition of All The Things, my friends! Please let me know your honest thoughts on this post and if it’s something you’d like to see again! Or if you’d like to see a collective post on something different. 🙂

I like the theme “All the Things”! Thanks for sharing these shows. I haven’t seen any of them so will have to check them out. I can see consistency already in your blog posts this year and yes to updating everything. I liked you on Facebook my friend!

Aww, thanks Kathrine, I’m SO happy you like it! I hope that you’ll enjoy the shows when you check them out, and I truly appreciate your kind words on my blog posts. I’ve been working really hard on keeping them up, and thank you TONS for adding me on FB. You’re the best! 🙂
I need to check out that Queen Sugar! I’m constantly playing catch up with updating social media and my blog and wish I could be better.
I hope you’ll love it if you do, Laura! I totally get that, your channels and blog are fantastic though!
I need to update some things on my blog as well and it has been on the back burner for awhile! I didn’t realize that I wasn’t following your blog FB page, so I am now! Yay! I think I’m going to add Queen Sugar to my list of shows to watch eventually. I usually declutter our closets in the fall and spring!!

That’s okay, I realized the same thing about yours – I thought for sure I was following but I wasn’t! Thanks for following me on there, and I hope you’ll enjoy Queen Sugar someday when you watch it. I’m excited that you started Golden Girls! 🙂 You do so good with decluttering!
I need to watch Jack Ryan because Kaan is in season 1!!!!

Ooh, that’s neat!! I think I remember he’s from your dizis you watch!
I like true crime too. Currently I am watching some true crime videos on YT about the two Dutch women that went missing in Panama in 2014. I am still reading Grace Coddington’s book and I am almost done.

Oh, that sounds interesting, I’ll have to look into that case! I kind of remember hearing something about it, but need a refresher. That sounds great on the book note, I hope you’re enjoying it! 🙂
Good luck with the decluttering and your blog goals! We always do a big clear out before Christmas, getting rid of the things the boys don’t use or fit any more and it’s amazing how many things can just accumulate, haha!
Hope you meet all your blog goals too 🙂
Thank you SO much, Mica! 🙂 That is an awesome time to clear out those items, and I’m sure it’s helpful for others too if you have people who you can give them away or even sell them if you could do that! Haha, I agree with you, things add up so quickly and I imagine it’s double with the kiddos stuff!
i neeeded some new stuff to watch so this is great THANKS 😉

That’s awesome, friend! I can’t get my husband into them, but my SIL and I chat about cases all the time, haha!
Love the “All the Things” post! HOW did I not know you read Verity?! Maybe I can inspire you via texts with all of my decluttering. ☺
Aww, that makes me so happy!! I’m not sure, I probably failed to mention this, haha, but I really loved it! And yes, give me all the decluttering texts, I LOVE them! 🙂
Congratulations on the “rising creator” award and good luck with your decluttering and blog goals!
