Everyone has heard of Monday motivation, but how about mindful Monday?
There was a time when I wrote a lot about Monday motivation (peep this super old blog post!), but mindful Monday is so much more fitting for me now. Maybe it is for you too!
While I find hustling for something that I want to be very beneficial, I’m just not in the same space that I used to be. I feel I almost used to be busy for the sake of just being busy, and yet accomplishing not much of anything. As of late, I really prioritize peace, slow living and making sure that what I’m working on is specifically ticking off something on my to-do list.
Today I’m putting just a few, tiny slices of mindfulness into the blogosphere and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this! I’ve toyed with the idea of making this a regular (monthly) blog post, but I’ve also thought about doing a short IG reel with bullet points, or even an email. Can you tell I’m undecided? 🙂
Please let me know how you might like to see it come together, and what you would like to hear on Mondays!
Grab your coffee or favorite beverage and let’s dive into this Mindful Monday post, friends!
Start with Gratitude
It is so important to keep things in perspective in our daily lives (which can be very hard!). Starting the day off with gratitude is one of the best ways to ensure you’re getting started on the right foot. No matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, there is always something to be thankful for each day. Always! We may just have to dig a little deeper on some days.
Remember those bits of thankfulness right away and it will help you shift your perspective positively before starting your day.
Make Decisions Based on the Future Version of You
Help your future self out! We tend to do things based on whether we feel like it in the moment and too often… we don’t. Something valuable I’ve learned is that it is almost always best to make decisions that will benefit the future version of myself versus what may benefit me right now. For example, I don’t feel like doing the dishes in the sink right now, so I leave them overnight. When I wake up, I immediately regret that decision because looking at the sink full of dirty dishes gives me anxiety (I know not everyone will panic with the dishes, but I’m one of those people!).
So it’s important to take a moment to consider if it’s worth putting something off for later versus just doing it right away and knocking it out. I read this somewhere a long time ago, but the post said that if it takes two minutes or less, just go ahead and do that thing and you won’t have to worry about it later on. It’s so true!
Give Yourself Grace
As much as I personally struggle with this one, it is so important to give yourself grace at the end of each day! No matter how motivated, ambitious, or coffee-fueled we may be, there is always going to be something that you didn’t get done. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do all the things, but we just have to realize that it’s impossible to do all the things in a single day.
As long as you’re doing your best, you can absolutely forget the rest and try again tomorrow!
That’s a wrap on this mindful Monday post, friends! I truly hope you’ve enjoyed this little post and I’d love to hear your thoughts, as always! 🙂 Please give this a share over on Pinterest or your fave social app if you found it helpful!

Aww, so happy you loved that, my dear friend! It truly helps keep things in perspective and really benefits us in the long run. I so feel for you with all you’ve been going through, and you have my continued prayers! Things will get better! 🙂 Easter was so good, and I hope yours was as well!
Haha! I have put off stuff in the evening and then it just makes for a more crazy morning, which is not a good start to a day. I have been trying to give myself a lot of grace lately, I feel I’ve had some crazy weeks where I need to focus on self care more than hustling to get it all done.

Yes, you know I can absolutely relate and it just makes the day start out more difficult it seems, haha! That is so good about giving yourself grace, you juggle so many things and you still do amazing with all of it!!
Giving yourself grace is a big one!!

It truly is, my friend!!
I think this would be a great blog series, Ashley! I also have to do the dishes at night – there’s nothing worse than waking up to a messy kitchen. You bring up such a good point about making decisions based on your future self rather than at the moment. I rarely do that and probably would have better outcomes sometimes.

Aww, thank you SO much Jill, I truly appreciate it and I think it’s going to be at the first Monday each month going forward! It can be so hard in the moment to do the extra stuff for your future self though, so that’s more than understandable, and I think just focusing on little things that make the next day better helps so much instead of overwhelming things!
Everyone says how the 1st of April being on Monday means the stars have aligned perfectly for a much needed reset, and I do agree! Happy April! <3
