I’m super excited to share my first link up with Shay and Erika for their monthly Let’s Look post!
I wanted to squeeze in January’s link up, but I just couldn’t swing it. So instead, I prepared for February’s Let’s Look link up and jotted things down so this post would be ready to go for this morning!
I have always found it interesting to think about how we all have the same twenty-four hours in a day, yet we spend it so differently based on our own personal lives. There are some things I do without fail that I don’t even think about each day, I just do those things and go onto the next thing.
Some of these are not necessarily exciting, but they are things are I do each day and help to make up a blessed life over here. 🙂
Let’s dive into those little things I do every single day, friends!
Get Up At 3 AM
Kyle goes to work super early in the mornings and I like to get up with him. I can get so much done in those dark morning hours with little-to-no disruptions since it’s just me and the cats.
*Okay, I admit that there’s a bit of a weekend exception to this one when we don’t have an alarm set, but we usually still wake up this early or nearby.
Pray
God has been so good to me and has blessed me more than I can ever express. I’m so thankful for Him and His goodness! I try to remember to give Him praise as I pray for situations that have a need, and for those that I love and care about, and for people I don’t even know. It is amazing how He is always at work, knowing every heart and every need.
Have a Cup of Coffee
A day would not be complete for me without coffee and anyone who knows me would expect nothing less than this being listed! I usually add photos of my morning coffees on my IG Stories and always send them over to Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom!
Sometimes I make my own coffee at home with this delicious Silk Oatmeal Cookie Creamer, and other times I pick it up from my favorite local coffee shop or Tim Hortons. I am both trying and failing at not getting as many coffees from out of the house!
Give the Cats Their “Coffee”
The cats are always excited when we get up in the morning because it means their “coffee” time. Don’t worry, I don’t give them actual coffee! I give them a little bit of whipped cream as a treat early in the morning as I’m making my coffee. Draino starts making noises and going around in circles and Pepper will sit and then stand up on her back legs, they are too cute! Then they go curl up in their little beds and take a nap!
Check My Calendar
One of the first things I do in the morning is go to our wall calendar. I highlight the previous day with a yellow highlighter so my eyes always go straight to the day at hand. Then, I take a look at if I have any appts that day (this includes Kyle’s appts or any of the parents) or later in the week to keep in mind.
Later on, I check my digital calendar before I get started on any blog work. This is my base template for my Google Calendar, and then I fill in more things prior to that week starting as well as just when things pop up.
If you’re interested in this format, I got it from watching a video on YouTube and Kayln is definitely worth subscribing to if you like planning, productivity or personal growth stuff!
Call/Text My Parents
One of the little things I do every single day that’s kind of one of the biggest things to me is that I always call or text my parents, including my in-laws, every single morning. I always say that we don’t have kids, but we do have parents! I do my very best to check in with them and make sure they’re okay or if they need anything.
Check My Email
This goes for both my personal email and my blog email. I try to stay on top of anything important in the morning when I start my blog work, and then file everything else to be looked at later on. I realized how much time going through emails can take, especially when so many are salesy-types of emails!
Spend Time in My Planners
Yes, planners, not planner! I have such a love for planning and they truly help keep me sane. My planners include my Erin Condren LifePlanner, Erin Condren Monthly Planner, Erin Condren Daily A5 Priority Planner (this was an exclusive in a surprise box) and my PowerSheets Goal Planner. They each serve a different purpose for me and I find them all super helpful!
You can see my reviews/walkthroughs of some of these planners with the links below!

All The Blog Things
I figured I would lump this one together because I could be doing any number of these sorts of things each day, but they all fall into the blog category! Checking messages, working on blog posts, taking photos for collabs, editing posts, social posts, blog reading/commenting, creating pins, and whatever else is thrown into the mix, haha!
Pack Kyle’s Lunch
So this is one of those that usually exclude the weekend again, but it still happens more often than not! Plus, I’m usually meal prepping for him even on the days that he isn’t going to work. He is a chicken and protein machine, so his lunches almost always include a pound of chicken each day!
Unload/Reload the Dishwasher
Fun fact: My hands were my dishwasher up until maybe a year ago, haha! I truly love using the dishwasher and while there still may be a few dishes in the sink, most of the time the dishwasher keeps down any sort of clutter for me in the kitchen.
Go to Bed at 7 PM
We are such old people around here, haha! With Kyle having to get up so early though, that also means going to bed early. Honestly I have such a hard time staying up past seven now, and if I do, it feels as if I stayed up until midnight. It’s a little crazy! So I try to get everything that needs finished up for the day done before Kyle gets home from work, so we can eat dinner and then relax for the evening until it’s time for bed.
That’s on a wrap on my first Let’s Look link up post, sweets friends! I really enjoyed putting together the little things I do every single day and I hope you enjoyed reading through it, too! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts in the comments and be sure to let me know some little things you do each day (and if you linked up today with a blog post too!).
P.S. Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️ I hope you celebrate today whether you have a significant other or not – you are something to celebrate either way!

Wow! What a schedule! I wish I could go to bed earlier, but my oldest daughter doesn’t get back from swim practice until after 8 some nights and then there is showering and some homework I may need to help her with. It’s a good goal though because even when I wake up a bit earlier, I feel so much more productive during the day!
Make Life Marvelous says
That is more than understandable Laura, you have a ton to juggle! If I had kids, I know it would be so much different for me. You are such a great momma, my friend!
Enjoyed reading all about your day! I need to get on a schedule of some sort. Happy Valentine’s Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Aww, thanks so much, and I have no doubt you will! 🙂
What time do you go to bed to wake up at 3?

I got bed about 7 pm! I know that’s really early, but it’s the only way to function, haha!
Oh, wow! I wish I had that much time in my day. I have maybe 5-6 hours when the kids are in school and Nat goes in later/comes home earlier now that he’s a senior and it makes it harder. I also wish I could get more sleep, but by the time I get Aut in bed it is 10:30 p.m.! Ahh! But, in a few years I am sure it’ll get easier for me! I love your calendar. I do Google Calendar and it helps so much to keep everything organized. I don’t put my blog stuff in there, but I like how to set aside stuff in your calendar for that. Your coffee drink looks so good! And I love that your cats get whip cream!

I know, you have so many schedules to juggle! If we have any kids, my schedule will definitely be a ton different, there is no doubt. I feel for you on the late nights, I would be a zombie at 10:30 pm, haha! Thanks so much my friend!!
I love seeing what your day is like. I wake up around 5:30 and love the mornings to get a lot done like you. Not sure I could handle 3. 🙂 You and your love of coffee has rubbed off on me and my husband. You got me hooked on the cold cream foam and now he is too! Lol! Prayer is so important for me as well. Your faith is such an inspiration to me and to many I’m sure.

Aww, thanks so much Kathrine! 5:30 is a great time and love that you enjoy mornings too! If it weren’t for Kyle getting up for work at that time, I’d likely sleep until 5ish, that does sound better, haha! 🙂 I told you I was a bad influence on the coffee note, but so glad you and your hubby are enjoying that cold foam creamer. It is delicious and so easy too, haha! Oh, you are too kind my dear friend, you are such an inspiration to me and I know you have prayed many prayers for me and my family members over the years and I appreciate it more than I can say! Thankful to call you my friend!
Wow! I thought I got up early between 4:30 and 5:00 am. My husband goes to bed early – at 7pm also but I usually stay up until 9 or 10. I love that you give your cats a little treat with your coffee every morning!
Jill – Doused in Pink
That’s still super early my friend, and love that you have some extra time in the evenings after your hubby goes to bed. If I could stay up, I’d use that time to watch my favorite shows that he simply cannot stand, haha! My kitties are definitely a little spoiled with their whipped cream in the mornings.
What a fun post to read. I love that you get up and go to bed at the same time as Kyle. Helps ya both be more in sync. Just adored this! I did this prompt too, it was so fun.
Aww, thanks Andrea!! I can’t wait to read yours, I’m a little behind on my blog reading, but I will definitely get over there shortly! 🙂 Yes, I like to think of it that way too!!
So interesting to find out more about your day, Ashley. I can’t believe that you get up at 3am every day though!

Aww, thank you so much Julia! Haha, I totally understand that, it is really not normal! I’d probably scoot it closer to 5ish if Kyle didn’t get up so early for work.
Wow 3 AM that is early and I thought 5:45 was early. I pray in the morning as well, I pray to and for my loved ones of have passed. 7 PM to bed, I am not even home from work yet. Not to much to say what I do I work four ten hour days. I get up at 5:45 I pray was my face, brush me teeth, throw on clothes which I prepared the day before. Walk 15 mins to the train, take a 4o minute train ride. Then a 15 minute walk to the office. Work a ten and half hour shift and then commute home again. I get home about 8. Your kitties are SO cute!

That is such a sweet thing to do in the mornings, my friend! I often think of passed loved ones and ask the Lord to give them a hug for me. 5:45 is still super early and I feel for you, it’s especially early when you have such FULL days and having to catch the train/long train rides too. I’ve never been on a train before! You are amazing, Allie!
I always love reading posts about how people spend their days! It’s so interesting. I just can’t get past the part that you wake up at 3 AM every day! Haha. I have to wake up at 6 on the weekdays and it about kills me every time! I’m not a morning person and would sleep until 8 every morning if I could!
Haha, I know, it is SO early! I am a morning person, but truly I’d pick a little later time (maybe 5ish) if it wasn’t for Kyle getting up so early for work. I agree with you, it was such a fun prompt and I’m still working through some of the others that posted Shay’s link up too! I feel for you on your weekdays and hope you have some coffee or your favorite beverage to make the days brighter! 🙂
You are so disciplined!! I could never wake up at 3 am; I’m doing my best to keep a better sleep schedule, but it’s tricky with the kids sometimes. Prayer is my number one thing to do each day (multiple times a day) so thanks for sharing this.
Martha
I never would have pictured you as going to be early and getting up early. Del’s schedule is always different so we flucate according to his schedule. But there are times when we go to be early too.
But I’m not a morning person at all.
That creamer sounds like a delicious addition to coffee.
I think it’s neat that you talk to your parents daily in some form. I text my adoptive mother almost daily a “picture of the day,” usually a sunset, sunrise, or a picture of my dogs. Sometimes, I send her pictures of me and the kids.
