It’s that time again for all the things, friends!
I’m excited to share with you what I’ve been up to lately, and also am looking forward to hearing what you’ve been up to, as well! 🙂
It’s hard to believe that it’s almost Easter weekend! The time sure is flying. This week is a great reminder of what our Savior did for each and every one of us, and while it’s Friday, we know that Sunday is coming!
It has been a bit of a tough week here. We’ve had two funerals (the second one is in just a couple of hours from now), my dentist appointment was on Wednesday, and I’ve just not felt the best physically or mentally.
For that reason, even though I hate to do it, I’m saving our next hustle culture series post until next week! I have things mostly put together, but just am not feeling 100% on it. I just want to put out my best, and I think it needs a little more work first!
Okay, let’s dive into the meat and potatoes of this post, haha!
What I’ve Been Watching
I enjoy curling up in my chair in the evenings trying to find something good to watch before bed. I like a little bit of everything, whether it’s romance, comedy, action, documentaries, animated movies, news, etc.
Lori Vallow Daybell Case
This case is a tough one. It’s technically only in jury selection as of this week, but it’s been a long time coming. Her children went ‘missing’ in 2019, meanwhile, her and her newlywed husband at that time were living it up in Hawaii. The entire world was wondering where JJ and Tylee were, and they wouldn’t answer any questions and just went on with their lives. Sadly, they found both of those precious children’s remains on Chad’s property in the pet cemetery. Incredibly heartbreaking!
If you’re interested in learning more about this case (think Murdaugh craziness because there’s so many deaths connected to Chad and Lori), I recommend listening/watching Pretty Lies and Alibis. GiGi is also at the trial for Law and Crime network and she posts a video every night to keep you updated, short and sweet, so she’s an awesome resource!
Their cases were joined together and it has been postponed so many times between Covid, Lori’s mental health status, and a slew of continuances granted for needing more time to present a better case for Mr. Daybell. The judge recently granted for their cases to be severed, so Lori will stand trial starting this week with jury selection. Chad’s trial has been postponed until a later date, to be determined.
Riverdale
When Riverdale first aired on the CW, I never missed an episode. That was true all the way up until we ditched cable, and then I couldn’t watch it anymore. I don’t regret getting rid of cable either, by the way! That was right around the premiere of season four, so I’m a good bit behind now!
I went back to watch some of the earlier episodes so that I could get back into the groove of things, and I just love this show! My favorite is Jughead! Have you watched the show?
What I’m Reading
For the most part, I read YA novels, rom/com, personal development books, or thrillers!
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I mentioned this one in the last edition of All The Things, but I hadn’t started it just yet! It was sort of a heads up, this is coming, sort of announcement, haha!
After having read it and having such a huge recommendation from my dear friend Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom, I can tell you that it is phenomenal! I’d give it 5 stars easily and you’ll get my full review on my upcoming Spring Reads post. I haven’t watched the Amazon Prime show yet, but I’ve heard it’s really good. Have you read this book or watched the show?
This was my first book by this author, who I think is really popular, and I will definitely be reading more of her books soon! She sets this book up interview-style, having each person in the band, Daisy Jones & The Six, tell their story. I loved reading about them, and I remember asking Carrie if this was an actual band back in the 70s because it just seemed so real the way the author put this together. It is a fictional one though, haha!
Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
I am a bit embarrassed, but things got a little crazy and I totally forgot I had borrowed this book. I had it on my shelf and then got the notification is was due the next day, and I couldn’t renew it since there were so many holds. Totally understandable! So I sped-read it the day it was due and I’m so glad I actually read it versus just taking it back and putting another hold on it. It was a really good book!
I’d put this one as my second favorite from Hoover! I loved the connection between Sky, the main character, and Dean, the bad boy she falls for. I know that’s such a predictable thing when it comes to books, but I have to tell you, you’re in for some twists and turns in this one! It does have some sad parts, but I promise it’s worth it and you’ll fall for these characters just as I did! I would really love to see this one turned into one of those book-to-movie or tv show things!
It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover
Another Hoover book! I’m definitely moving through her books since I read Verity. While none of them have quite captivated me the way it did (it’s sort of one-of-a-kind!), I really have enjoyed her other books so far. It Ends With Us was a really solid book, a bit sad in Hoover-fashion, but I was hopeful reading this one that we’d find a healthy relationship for the main character. I think that was really the author’s purpose is making this sequel, and that’s pretty much confirmed in the acknowledgments section of It Starts With Us.
I know a lot of people have said this one didn’t need to be written, and that’s really true, she could have easily left things the way they were in the first book. However, I found it pretty interesting to see what happened with Lily later on, and I hope you will too! Just be sure to read It Ends With Us FIRST, I know it’s confusing if you haven’t heard of it or read it before, but that one came first, haha!
By the way, for those of you who’ve read the first book, what do you think about Blake Lively playing Lily? I’m hearing all sorts of outrage about it. I would love to hear your thoughts! I don’t really have a strong opinion about it. I like Blake and I’m sure she’ll do a great job. Admittedly, I wouldn’t have pictured her as this character at all though.
What I’m Working On
I like to pick goals for the house, here on the blog, and just things in general that I can break down over time so they don’t feel as heavy or overwhelming.
Getting Back to Routines
I’ve sort of bailed on my routines lately! What’s wacky is that I thrive on routines, haha! I always like to dive into my planner(s) first thing in the morning and really get a good handle on what needs to get done that day. I haven’t been doing that for a bit now, and I think it’s definitely to my detriment.
Isn’t it odd how the things that help us the most sometimes are the first to get pushed back? That should be a blog post for another day!
I’m not sure how or why I’ve fallen off the bandwagon lately with my treadmill routine either (I used to get on it at least 3x per week), but here I am. I’m really trying to get back myself focused on getting back to it. I’ve noticed that it’s affecting my mood and just my body in general. I also need to increase my water intake.
I always struggle with this, but need to make more of an effort to drink more water! Any tips for this one?
That’s a wrap on all the things lately, friends! I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to, or what you may be planning to watch, read or work on soon!
As always, if you have any ideas for new posts you’d like me to cover, I’d love to hear them!
Autumn says
I loved Daisy Jones & the Six! I still haven’t started the show yet though, but I was thinking it was loosely based on Fleetwood Mac. I also loved Seven Husband of Evelyn Hugo and After I do by TJR! I wasn’t a huge fan of Malibu Rising, which is why I haven’t felt drawn to read Carrie Soto is Back. I do want to read some of the other books from TJR. I loved Blake Lively and I can’t imagine her doing a bad job for It Ends With Us, so I’m staying okay with her – I honestly never imagine actors/actresses when reading though, haha. Since being pregnant, I started setting reminders for water and to make sure I’ve drank xyz by whatever time.
I’m SO happy I just read the Evelyn Hugo book the other day, it was great and I will definitely check into After I Do, as well! Haha, I don’t really imagine actors either, but sometimes I do think that they don’t look the way I envisioned the characters, but no matter what, I’m sure they’ll do great – especially Blake! That’s awesome for you, water is important and I need to be doing the same even though I’m not pregnant!
Happy Easter weekend my friend! He is Risen, He is Risen indeed! Sorry to hear about these funerals. I completely understand why you need to take your time with your hustle culture post. I used to watch Riverdale and then it almost got too crazy and I stopped. But I loved those early episodes. Jughead was my fave too! I don’t really get into watching trials because I really let the crimes get to me. As far as your routine, you will get back to it. I know you care for many so it’s understandable. But I do hope you find time for yourself my friend. XO

Thank you so very much Kathrine, I truly appreciate it!! Even though it was a really difficult time with so much happening, we had a very blessed Easter here! I am with you on Riverdale getting crazy, the early episodes have definitely been the best thus far. That’s very much understandable about trails, some of it can be so difficult to watch. Thank you tons for your sweet words, you are the absolute best! I’m still working on getting my routine back, but really hope to pull it together next week! <3
I think I will read the book Daisy Jones & The Six because it sounds more interesting to me than watching the film. Thanks for sharing. I do hope you have a lovely weekend.
FASHION TALES
I think you’ll love it!! And then if you really fall for the story, you can see if you want to try the show. I definitely get that sometimes you just want to read the book, esp in this circumstance where they’re singing and things. Aww, thank you very much and I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend thus far.
Happy Easter weekend, friend! Oh, I know what you mean about routines being disrupted. I am totally derailed right now, but I have had enough time in the last couple of days to get fairly caught up again. I am looking forward to getting back to working out next week after taking a week off for my half marathon. I’m looking forward to seeing your treadmill status updates on IG Stories again once you get back on it! 🙂 We can do this together!

You always bounce back big, my dear friend, and you always inspire me with that! 🙂 And yes we can, I am so ready to try to get this treadmill habit in full gear!
Hope you have a wonderful Easter, although it must be sad with those funerals to attend. Sorry for your losses.
On a lighter note, I did really enjoy that Daisy Jones and the Six too, although I still think The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is my fave from Taylor Jenkins Reid. A lot of her books are just so so good!
Good luck with getting back on track with your goals 🙂
Thank you so very much, Mica! I hope you had a blessed Easter!! After just reading the Evelyn Hugo book, I have to agree that it’s my favorite out of the two, also! 🙂 I’m definitely going to be reading more of her books. And thank you tons! It’s still a work in progress for sure, but I’m hoping to really pull it together soon! 🙂 Thanks again, my friend!
Easter went so fast but I hard a lovely Easter celebration on Sunday.

I’m so happy to hear that, Melody!! I can definitely relate on it going by so quickly!
I need to put Daisy Jones and the Six on my reading list. I keep hearing so many good things about it!
I hope you’ll love it if you read it, Laura! I really fell for that book, it was great!
Nice post! Thanks for sharing.
I invite you to visit my last post. Have a good week!
Aww thank you tons, friend, and I will definitely check it out! 🙂
I hope you had a good Easter! I need to get back into my routine when I get back home! It’s so weird not doing things I do every day.

Aww thank you Jennifer, I did! Hope you did as well! 🙂 I bet it was tough, but I’m so happy for you that you got to go back to Turkey!!
I wanna watch “Daisy Jones and the Six” because everyone’s hyping it up so much. Not sure if it’s the most interesting topic for me, but I’ll give it a try!
Lots of love,

I definitely can relate Krissi! I didn’t read the book for awhile because the rock star thing didn’t quite interest me, but truly, just reading a little bit of the book…I was hooked! It’s SO good the way the author wrote it, and I hope the show is just as good!
It ends with us was great for me, I must read the second part of it 😀
I hope you love the second part, my friend! 🙂
Love this blog series! I have yet to read any of Colleen Hoover’s books but it’s definitely on my list!!
Hope you’re doing well and wishing you a beautiful week 🙂
Aww, thanks Mariann!! 🙂 I hope you’ll love her books when you start, I think I’ll probably keep going until I get through all of her books, haha!
Thank you tons and I hope the very same for you! 🙂
I enjoyed Daisy Jones and the Six and just started watching the series. The Lori Vallow Daybell Case is so sad but sounds interesting. I find that when I stop using my planner, I also get off track.
Jill – Doused in Pink
I hope you’re enjoying the tv show so far, Jill!! I still have yet to watch it, but hopefully I’ll start it soon! And yes, I absolutely agree with you and can attest to that this month, haha! I haven’t been touching this planner and I feel all out of sorts. Praying May is a better month for me to stick to my routines!
What a nice way to show what you’ve been up to lately! I myself have been struggling with establishing my routines so thank you for reminding me to work on that a bit more. <3

Aww, thank you Jelena! We will work on it together, friend! 🙂 I’m trying to get back into the groove of things still, but it’s getting better I think!
I have a lot of film backlog, and here are such rarities.
Hope you’re able to move through your film backlog, friend, and thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂
I’m sorry that you’re having a difficult time at the moment and I hope you get back into your routine soon!
I struggle with staying hydrated too, so I bought myself a 1,5 litre jug (a really pretty one to inspire me) and I fill it up each morning and I challenge myself to finish it by the end of the day!

Aww, thank you so much Julia! It’s getting a lot better I think, just have to keep pressing forward. 🙂 Oh wow, I’ve seen some of those and thought about buying one!! I love that and I hope it helps you stay more hydrated!
