Some days we are killing it and other days, we wonder what we even accomplished. Check out my top three ways to make your day successful!
There are often things that are out of our control that occur each day, but we can do a few things to better prepare ourselves up for success!
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “If you don’t run your day, the day will run you.”
That’s why it is super important to take some time to plan out your day, and even your week (more on that here!), so that you can remember what matters most for you to get accomplished.
1. Get Up Early
You may or may not be an early person, but I think with some new habit-forming, you’ll learn that you can get a lot more done if you’re up before the sun rises.
This gives you time to wake up, drink your coffee and have some “you” time before you have to be at work or your day begins to get a little hectic.
2. Write Down Your Top 3 Things to Accomplish Today
You may have what seems like a million more things you need to do today, but just choose three. You can’t do everything at once, no matter how hard you try.
Work hard and stay focused on these three things. If you finish them and have a lot of daylight left, go ahead and add another task.
Tip: Do the most difficult (or the one you’re most worried about) first!
There are mixed opinions on this, but for me, I always feel better getting my most-dreaded task out of the way first thing in the morning. Everything else afterwards seems so much easier and I feel a sense of relief.
3. Keep Calm and Stay Positive
I understand this is easier said than done! I have spent many days feeling overwhelmed and not accomplishing anything.
When you start feeling stressed, step away from your desk and take a few deep breaths and focus on just feeling your body relax. It really helps!
Try to keep a positive mindset throughout your day.
I like to surround myself with happy quotes, pretty and inspiring pictures, etc.
It especially helps make me feel better when things start to get hectic. Just remember to breathe and know that everything will be okay, regardless of how you are feeling at that moment.

Number one is definitely something I need to work on. Though I am forced to get up early through the work week, I hit the snooze button quite often. I know if I got up early it would make the day flow better. I’m going to make it my mission to work on that starting tomorrow. Great tips!
I have been getting up early the past few months and every now and then, I wake up later, or sleep in on a work day and I feel WAY worse, so I highly agree with getting up early! I need to get better at following the other two tips. 😊
