Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, friends! Are you ready for it? All the pie, family, and shopping is coming soon! In celebration of this time of year, I want to share with you 50 things I’m grateful for.
While my blog is still so new, I’m hoping to make this list a tradition each year. There is so much to be grateful for, not just this time of year, but every single day!
This list is not in any particular order, but I can assure you that each item is from my heart. I hope you’ll find some things that you are grateful for, too.
50 Things I’m Grateful For
1. My sweet husband, Kyle. We’ve been married for a little over four years, and it has been an amazing journey together! I couldn’t imagine life without him, and am so thankful that God chose him to be my hubby.
2. Our little rescue-cat, Draino! Since I probably haven’t mentioned this before, her name is Draino because Kyle rescued her out of a drain pipe years ago. I was always a dog person before I met Kyle, but I fell in love with my little fur ball.
3. God! I wouldn’t have anything if it weren’t for God’s love, grace and mercy. He has given me a wonderful life, filled with so many joys, laughter and lots of amazing people.
4. You, my friend! I’m so thankful for all of my readers. Whether this is the first time you’re here or you’ve been reading my blog since I started it, I appreciate you coming here and I hope that I can continue to make it a place that you want to revisit. 🙂
5. My home. Having a roof over my head can sometimes easily be taken for granted, but I know there are people who don’t have a home to go to. I’m very thankful for mine.
6. Good health.
7. Warm, soft, cozy blankets to curl up into while watching a movie.
8. Popcorn. It’s my favorite snack and I have it every single evening.
9. Hallmark Christmas movies, as predictable as they may be. 😉
10. The time I was able to spend with my father-in-law before he passed in October of last year. He always felt that showing others he loved him was the most important gift he could give, and I have tried to carry that on, as well. What a wonderful message to leave behind.
11. Super Mario Bros 3. I may be a little obsessed with this game lately!
12. My church family. They’re amazing and each of them are such blessings to me.
13. My beyond-amazing best friend-turned sister for life, Stephanie! I could go on and on about how fantastic she is, how she’s always been there for me, and I’m not sure how I survived without her before her sweet momma introduced us.
14. Speaking of Stephanie’s momma, she soon became my “mom,” too, after we met all those years ago. I miss her every day, and could never put into words how much she meant to me. Cancer steals people from us too quickly.
15. My parents. They are absolutely amazing and I don’t know what I would do without them.
16. My grandparents. I’m blessed to have both my grandma and grandpa on my mom’s side. They are so sweet, loving and caring.
17. My wonderful in-laws. They are truly the best!
18. The look and feeling of having no dishes to wash in the sink. The best feeling ever!
19. My Buick. While I had two cars before this one, this was my first big adult purchase for a car.
20. Bath and Body coupons in the mail. I’ve been a long time shopper at B&B, but for some reason, they just started sending me coupons in the mail a couple of months ago. They’re awesome!
21. Books written by Liane Moriarty. One of the few authors that I have read and loved every single book that she’s written.
22. Having heat at home when it’s cold, and having air when it’s hot.
23. Clean water.
24. Food to eat.
25. Days where I don’t have to set an alarm.
26. Pinterest and all its glory. While I use it more for my blog now, I have been a lover of Pinterest for such a long time and really just enjoy the platform.
27. Being able to create content for Make Life Marvelous. This blog has brought so much joy to my life!
28. Taking that leap of faith to start my blog. I have a long way to go, but it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.
29. The Suits TV show. I can’t believe it took me this long to watch the show, but as many of you know, it was on my Friday Favorites A LOT this summer. Needless to say, I miss Harvey Specter!
30. Chick-fil-a Saturday lunches with mom and dad.
31. Sunshine coming through my window while working.
32. My job.
33. God always providing, even when I don’t see a way.
34. Pasta. One of my favorites, I could live on it – but shouldn’t!
35. Clothes to wear.
36. Evenings filled with Kyle and I laughing about anything and everything.
37. Hobby Lobby. One of my favorite stores!
38. Discovering the Power Rangers this year, and falling in love with the original green ranger (since then, a million other colors!), Tommy Oliver, played by Jason David Frank.
39. Pumpkin spice everything.
40. Great reports for my father-in-law’s health. Our family has so much to be thankful for this year.
41. Automation tools for my blog. It makes things so much easier.
42. Christmas decorations. I’m excited to put up the tree after Thanksgiving, this weekend!
43. Seeing my cat get so excited with the tree (she actually doesn’t try to knock it over, she just likes laying under it and looking at the lights).
44. A clear driveway in the winter time.
45. Fresh cut grass in the spring/summer time.
46. Cute coffee mugs.
47. Starbucks Holiday Drinks – my favorite at the moment is the caramel brulee latte.
48. Technology – so that I’m able to write these blog posts and connect with you!
49. Texas Roadhouse rolls.
50. Keeping a houseplant alive that was from my father-in-law’s memorial service last year.

Happy Thanksgiving. Draino! What a perfect name. Cats are great when they’re yours aren’t they. Some can be indifferent to strangers… One of mine is peeing in the house at the moment so I’m about to strangle him, but I usually love him. I think he has a bladder issue and we’re taking him to the vet tomorrow.
Aww, thank you, friend! 🙂 She is my baby! Mine is very much like that. She’s sort of nervous around others until she gets used to them. I hope yours gets better! It’s sad when you know that they can’t help it, even though I know it’s frustrating to clean up. I hope his vet visit went well!! I also hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving, Ashley! I love your list of items, it definitely sounds like you have so much to be grateful for. It’s such a good exercise to list all our blessings every now and then, isn’t it?
